Terms and Conditions

  • TEDxBrisbane is an independently organised TED event to be held on 02 December 2017.

For Participant (Audience) applications

  • TEDxBrisbane 2017 operates a curated audience model whereby all potential attendees (participants) must submit a formal application on the TEDxBrisbane website by 11:59pm on Friday 20th October 2017, AEST.
  • Applications open on Monday 2nd October 2017.
  • TEDxBrisbane 2017 is an 18+ event at a licensed venue.  No children under the age of 18 are able to attend, including infants.  We encourage anyone who is unable to attend due to childminding responsibilities to watch the live stream or host a viewing party.
  • All participants need to bring ID for registration to confirm they are 18+ and that they are the individual to whom the ticket offer was extended.
  • Selection of applicants to be extended an opportunity to purchase a ticket toTEDxBrisbane 2017 shall be at the discretion of the Licensee and her nominated delegates.  Chance plays no part in the selection of applicants.
  • It is anticipated that the number of applications received shall greatly exceed the number of tickets available.
  • Completion of an application form does not guarantee an offer will be made to purchase a ticket to attend.
  • You need to use the same email address for ticket purchase as you use in your application
  • Invitations to purchase a ticket are extended to the individual whose application we vetted and approved.  Ticket offers and tickets are not transferable. Individuals who attempt to transfer tickets will have their offers revoked and/or their tickets rendered void.
  • TEDxBrisbane is not a plus-one event.  You cannot apply for additional tickets for people who did not apply, or whose applications were not successful.
  • TEDxBrisbane is run on a not for profit basis.  We can offer refunds, less an administrative fee up until Friday 17 November.  No refunds can be made after this time.
  • Any individual who requires a disability support worker to accompany them needs to indicate this at the time of application.
  • Any individual who has accessibility or mobility requirements should indicate this at the time of application in order to give us every opportunity to support their attendance.
  • Any individual with dietary requirements needs to advise us of these at the time of submitting their application.  Every reasonable measure shall be undertaken to support these requirements.

For Advocate Applications

  • All potential attendees advocates must submit a formal application on the TEDxBrisbane website by 11:59pm on Friday 13th October 2017, AEST.
  • Applications open on Monday 2nd October 2017.
  • Applicants who submit an application form are indicating they shall perform all the tasks detailed in the Advocate FAQ, and any other tasks that might be reasonably requested of them by the organisers.
  • Selection of applicants to be extended an opportunity to become an advocate for TEDxBrisbane 2017 shall be at the discretion of the Licensee and her nominated delegates.  Chance plays no part in the selection of applicants.
  • Only alumni of TEDxBrisbane and TEDxSouthBank, being individuals who have attended one of their previous annual live events are eligible to apply.
  • It is anticipated that the number of applications received shall exceed the number of advocate positions available.  A growing pool of alumni each year means more and more individuals are eligible for the roles.  If you are unsuccessful please consider applying to attend in person in the audience or hosting a viewing party for the live stream.
  • Completion of an application form does not guarantee an offer will be made to become an advocate.
  • Please use the email address in your application that you wish to receive all future correspondence if successful.
  • TEDxBrisbane is not a plus-one event.
  • Advocates do not pay to attend on event day as they shall be working.
  • TEDxBrisbane provides catering for Advocates on the day.  We request that you give priority to participants when accessing catering at all times.
  • Any individual who requires a disability support worker to accompany them needs to indicate this at the time of application.
